Brief
In October 2009, PCW developed a partnership with the South African Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA), to develop a communications platform for the auction industry in South Africa, and create a profitable added value offering for the association online.
Methodology & Outcome
Our first task was to scope the industry and membership to develop a commercial model which added to existing membership of the SAIA. Following this, PCW developed a website portal to house all auctions in the country under a unique and diverse search directory, incorporating a social media sharing platform across sectors and specialist areas.
Launched in December 2009, the product has self-funded and has over 65% pick up rate of auctioneers in the industry and is now a profitable commercial website with extended business offerings and the potential to expand into other African countries.
